Field Day Update!
On field day we cooperated by wating our turn.
By: A.K.
Some of our favourite stations were the high jump, water dunk, water shooting game, roller racers, cup stacking, horse shoe and the lemonade station (yum!) We ended our afternoon with spelling and a relaxing movie with Mrs. Friesen's class. Can you believe we had gym after lunch?! Some of us are VERY tired and will sleep well tonight!
Have a lovely weekend :)

Estimation Station
Happy Tuesday!
Since we have been back from spring break our guessing bowl activities have changed a little bit. We now have an estimation station which changes weekly. The items are placed in a container on Mondays and students have all week to make an estimate of how many items are in the container. They write their estimate on a sticky note; we then count the items and compare estimates on Fridays.
The students are enjoying this activity and it allows them to utilize their estimation skills. We have now added a step - they each have their own recording booklets they fill in after we count the items as a class. Once the booklets are filled in they will be bringing them home.

Grade 2 Expo projects!
Check out the work of the amazing 2`s. This is the day after the big afternoon and evening of presentations! They even shared one more time Friday morning. The students are sitting with their ``built from a blueprint`` projects and are holding their finished German book as well. Please look at both projects in case you missed it, and excuse the blurry pictures. Enjoy!

Expo Extravaganza!
Happy Monday!
What a day!! I can't help but brag about all the hard work the class is putting into their Expo projects. Thursday will be such a wonderful celebration of all their hard work. I'm so proud of them.
Take a look at the photo below to see all of the work we began this afternoon. All students are off to a great start, and are following their "blue print" that they made last week. I love seeing their creative side, and hope the picture provides a small snapshot into our building this afternoon.
Have a wonderful evening :)

Science in room 3
Happy Tuesday!
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. We have been exploring the theme of solids, liquids, and gases in our classroom. The students seem to be enjoying it and have been taking out library books on science - how exciting!
We have been watching videos and doing hands-on activities to deepen our understanding of how particles in solids, liquids, and gases look. We recently finished an activity with Cheerios, where students had to show what the particles looked like at each state. They did a fantastic job! I am posting a picture of their hard work below.
Here is a neat little video I showed them on what types of material can be changed into solids, liquids, and gases. Water is always the easiest example, but this video showed us different mediums that changed state. We really liked it!
Enjoy :)
